Job Summary:
The Medical Director for Fetal Cardiology will provide strategic medical leadership and direction for operations across clinical care, research, and education. The goal of this role is to provide outstanding clinical care and contribute to advancing the field of fetal cardiology through research, mentorship, and education of fetal cardiology team members. The Medical Director will develop and maintain clinical and outreach operations, which support CHCO's mission and values in an organized, effective, innovative, and quality and service-oriented manner. This role will be a champion of the Quadruple Aim and of CHCO initiatives, specifically regarding quality and safety and patient and provider experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with Heart Institute (H.I) and Colorado Fetal Care Center (CFCC) leadership team to develop and operationalize growth strategies and priorities.
- Drive recruitment and retention of outstanding faculty.
- Ensure physician coverage of clinical services. Will direct the efficient management of provider schedules to maximize resources, access, and patient satisfaction.
- Partner with service line leadership, physician relations, business development on the creation and promotion of outreach education and outreach visits to expand market share and grow the program's regional and national reputation.
- Participate in a minimum of quarterly regional outreach trips to promote and grow the fetal cardiology program.
- Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with appropriate clinical standards and best practices, which may include development of clinical pathways, algorithms, or protocols applicable to patients served.
- Participate in and champion continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.

The Society of Thoracic Surgery requires a hospital to perform at least 250 heart surgeries per year to be considered a high-volume center. Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (MD/DO), or equivalent.
- Board Certified in Pediatrics
- 5+ years of fetal cardiology
- Prior experience with program development, teaching or research.
- Examples of scholarship
Condition of Employment:
- Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
- Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

The starting hiring range for this position has been established at HIRING RANGE:
$286,000 to 310,000.
