In partnership with Northeastern University, Takeda Pharmaceuticals is offering a two-year Global Medical Affairs PharmD/PhD fellowship based in Cambridge, MA.

Global Medical Affairs at Takeda provides medical support across the asset lifecycle, from early clinical development to marketed products, in three areas, Gastrointestinal and Inflammation, Neuroscience, and Rare Genetics & Hematology. The two-year Takeda Global Medical Affairs Fellowship Program is designed to prepare post-doctoral scholars for rewarding careers in the biopharmaceutical industry. Through hands-on experience, fellows will work with various cross-functional teams to learn the role of Global Medical Affairs, develop skills in the analysis, interpretation, and communication of clinical data, and expand their scientific knowledge to render clinical insights and contribute to meeting the needs of healthcare professionals.

In the first year, fellows will complete four 3-month rotations in Global Medical Communications, Global Publications and two elective rotation from a growing list of functions including Medical Excellence, Scientific Training, Medical Evidence Generation, Global Medical Information and Global Medical Leads. In each rotation, fellows will have the opportunity to work with staff across various geographies and learn to navigate the complex dynamics and team environment at a truly global pharmaceutical company. Fellows will be integrated into typical daily workflows of each functional area while also participating and potentially leading special projects and initiatives. In the second year, the fellow will select a specialty concentration in their area of interest and deepen their industry knowledge by owning and leading projects and initiatives. Throughout both years of the fellowship program, mentorship opportunities and one on one interactions with Global Medical Affairs leaders will be available.

Upon completion of the program, fellows will have both broad and deep experience in Global Medical Affairs and be well poised for the challenges of a career in the biopharmaceutical industry.

The fellows will primarily work at Takeda's office in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Northeastern University responsibilities will be carried out on the Northeastern Boston campus.

Qualifications:

Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited institution, eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Massachusetts OR Doctor of Philosophy degree in a biological or physical science.

Excellent oral and written communication, time management, and leadership skills, ability to work independently and take initiative on a variety of projects at the industry site and Northeastern.
