The Biostatistician meets the requirements and needs of research projects related to cancer research in the cancer research programs of the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC) and Reusch Center. S/he has expertise in Biostatistics/Statistics, programming skills in SAS and R, experience with biostatistical aspects of medical research projects, and experience in a consulting environment are all functions of the job at a full-time level. This position specifically cannot be dealt with on a part-time basis where highly complex specialized training is necessary to perform the functions of the job. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Actively collaborate on the design, conduct, analysis and interpretation of research projects related to cancer and other studies.
- Assist in grant preparation for Lombardi Cancer Center members and other GUMC applications.
- Prepare analysis and summary for DSMC meetings.
- Support in analysis needed for CRC protocol reviews.
- Oversee implement randomization.
Work Interactions
The individual in this position will interact with DBBB faculty and other GUMC and LCCC investigators to provide biostatistics consultation and collaboration for related biomedical research projects. It is part of the LCCC/BBSR. The individual may also interact with graduates both in Biostatistics and in other programs. The position will report to the chair of the department but will be report to and supervised by individual DBBB faculty and other PI(s) on a project by project basis.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Master degree in biostatistics or statistics with experience in statistical design and analysis for biomedical research projects
- Familiarity with SAS and R, along with categorical and survival analysis
- At least 2-year's post-MS working experience in a cancer research-related environment is preferable

Salary range for this position is $54,616.00 to $70,870.54 annually
Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$54,616.00 - $100,493.33
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
