Description
The Non-Tenure Line Instructor in Biomedical Informatics will contribute to the academic and research missions of the Innovation Center for Biomedical Informatics through teaching, research, and service responsibilities in biomedical informatics. Key responsibilities include:
Teaching and Mentorship

Teach courses in the Health Informatics and Data Science MS program, develop and deliver engaging lectures, hands-on workshops, as well as to mentor and advise students, including guiding capstone projects program committees.
Research and Scholarly Activities
-
Conduct research in biomedical informatics, leveraging clinical, omics, and other biomedical data sources to address relevant challenges in healthcare and translational research. -
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including clinicians, data scientists, and domain experts, to develop innovative solutions using AI and Machine learning to advance the field of biomedical informatics. -
Actively pursue external funding opportunities by writing research proposals and grant applications. -
Disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and other scholarly activities.
Service and Professional Development

Contribute to the development and enhancement of biomedical informatics tools, methods, and resources to improve data access, integration, and analytics for clinical applications and translational research. -
Provide consulting and support services to the university and medical center community, assisting with data analysis, programming, synthetic data sets and biomedical informatics solutions. -
Participate in departmental, university, and professional service activities, including committee work and community outreach. -
Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in biomedical informatics.
Requirements and Qualifications
Applicants should have a PhD with Postdoctoral research experience in a STEM area such as Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science. Applications. Submit a CV/Resume with Cover Letter.
The projected base salary range for this position is $71,000 - $88,300. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
