Job Summary:
The Electronic Specialist II will provide preventive and corrective maintenance services and repairs for various biomedical equipment and components at the Anschutz Medical Campus. This includes service and repair on centrifuges, shakers, incubators, balances, scales, stirrers, sterilizers, glass washers, ultra-low freezers, ice machines, and associated equipment. The Electronic Specialist II will communicate and collaborate with trade groups, customers, and leadership to find the most effective and efficient way to produce a high level of safety, customer satisfaction, and equipment life quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- The position will evaluate the proper operation and will maintenance of biomedical equipment and components.
- The position will investigate corrective maintenance issues associated with the biomedical equipment and the components related to the biomedical equipment including but not limited to electrical systems, control systems, steam, hydronic, hydraulic, piping, and pneumatics.
- The position will monitor, calibrate and validate bio-medical equipment including but not limited to centrifuges, shakers, incubators, balances, scales, stirrers, sterilizers, glass washers, ultra-low freezers, ice machines, and associated equipment.
- The position will have a knowledge of government regulations regarding the use of biomedical equipment and will collect and maintain required and necessary data based on government regulations.
- The position will communicate with internal and external customers through different channels including email, phone calls, text messaging, and face-to-face about equipment status, ongoing issues, and plan of action.
- The position will provide customers with an accurate repair quote and a time frame of when repairs will be conducted based on part availability and labor time.
- The position will use the manufacturer's specifications and operating procedures with standard trade practices to evaluate the operations of the equipment and equipment components.

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located at the Anschutz Medical Campus located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of experience providing maintenance and repairs on bio-medical equipment and/or ultra-low freezers (i.e., centrifuges, shakers, incubators, balances, scales, stirrers, sterilizers, autoclaves, glasswasher, -20 and -80 freezers, refrigerators).
Necessary special requirements: Must have EPA 608 Universal Certification
- Substitution: 2 years of education in biomedical equipment technology program or a combination of biomedical equipment education and experience providing maintenance and repairs on bio-medical equipment and/or ultra-low freezers (i.e., centrifuges, shakers, incubators, balances, scales, stirrers, sterilizers, autoclaves, glasswasher, -20 and -80 freezers, refrigerators) equal to 2 years.
A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates or higher degree in biomedical equipment technology
- Experience entering, updating, and modifying information in a database.
- Experience in bio-medical equipment that includes inspecting, replacing, adjusting, and calibrating electrical, pneumatic, steam, and hydronic controls and components.
- Experience in refrigeration that includes inspecting, replacing, adjusting, and calibrating electrical and refrigeration controls and components.
- Experience in performing mathematical functions to correctly and accurately calculate amounts of refrigerants used.
- Experience in performing preventive maintenance and repairs to biomedical and refrigeration systems and components.
- Medical autoclaves, sterilizers, and glass washers experience.
- Ultra-low freezer experience
- Centrifuges, shakers, and incubators experience
- Balances, scales, and stirrer's experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to enter data into a database
- Experience that demonstrates the ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience that demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with persons of diverse backgrounds
- Experience that demonstrates strong customer service skills
- Excellent oral communication skills with the ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written form which includes the ability to check for typographical, grammatical, and spelling errors.

NOTE: This position has been designated as essential personnel, "Subject to call 24 hours per day, seven days per week" and may be required to carry a pager. Position may also be required to "Stay over late" or "Come in early" to "Cover" shifts, as needed, and may be required to respond to any emergencies as needed. Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $61,380 - $73,097.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
This position may be eligible for a one-time non-base building sign-on bonus up to $2,000. Details of this recruitment incentive program will be provided during the interview process.
